The Group Response and Ambient Student Participation System.

Developed for Dawson College and the Saltise organization, this application allows students and instructors to collaborate in realtime on group work.

The application is free for both instructors and students and features no in-app purchases.

Instructors sign up, and create a new session. Once an instructor has given students the Session ID, students can login with a name and the ID. Once signed in, students can then either join an existing group, or create a new group. They then proceed through the questions and question parts that the instructor assigned for the session. As they proceed through questions the color of their screens changes accordingly, as does the groups label in the instructor dashboard, giving the instructor a way to see the progress of various groups in the session.

At any time, students can ask for help from the instructor, at which point they will be placed into a help queue. The instructor can see all groups who need help in order of priority.

When a group is in need of help, their screens will flash to alert the instructor.

After the session, the instructor can view group and session summaries to get a sense of wait times, and session times.

This data can also be exported to spreadsheet via email for further research and analysis by the professor.
